Last night was the kick-off of the mid-week programming that we have entitled Recharge, and I can't say enough good things about what we saw. There were kids of all ages engaged in Bible activities tailored for their maturity and understanding level, the youth were together and learning in the Student Center, the Worship in the Sanctuary was absolutely amazing. (I'm not sure that the congregation wasn't louder last night than on Sunday!)
The meal was expertly prepared and served, and those portions! If you walked away hungry, you might need to see a doctor! And then on top of that you had just a great time of teaching in the Sanctuary as Dean kicked off the study on 1 Corinthians. He loaded us up with tons of background on what was going on in Corinth that makes it so much like what is going on where we live and with what we face today!
If you missed out, then let me tell you, you missed out! But don't feel bad, because the great thing is you can be part of it next Wednesday. And if you are worried about what you missed, and being lost with what we're learning in class, we have you covered on that front too! You can go to the watch tab on the website and there you will find last night's lesson on demand. The only thing you're missing is a steaming hot plate of Nachos and some warm Chocolate Chip Cookies- Sorry, we can't stream dinner to you.
Seriously though, we named Wednesday Nights Recharge for a reason. Sunday is not enough! While we need to be reading and studying throughout the week on our own, we need time with our brothers and sisters to study and worship together more than just once a week too. We need that time when we come before God and declare His goodness, and we sing of His love, and we raise high his name together.
If you didn't make it last night, mark your calendar, make your plan, and join us next week. Because in a world that tries hard to drain everything we have out of us, we need a mid-week Recharge!
